When connecting to VeriSTAR NB, the Desktop is the first page you visit. It is the starting point of your navigation through the application, using the different available navigation tools described below.
The toolbar is a permanent navigation system and contains five buttons, accessible from anywhere:
My
desktop: direct access to your desktop from anywhere.
Search
project: search a project with criteria (see The
search tool)
Help:
online help
Profile:
consult your profile information, change your profile, change your password.
Disconnect:
disconnect from the application (the login window is displayed again).
For more information, consult the Identification
chapter.
Navigation bar (path to current window)
As the toolbar, the navigation bar is displayed on every screen. It provides the path you have followed from your Desktop to the current page.
The navigation bar is built the following way:
Desktop > Command 1 > Command 2…
|
Example: |
|
In this example, you are now viewing the Add Comment form: you came all the way from your Desktop, through the Drawings list page, and then through the Drawing detail view.
|
|
Each item of the navigation bar is a link: for example, click Drawings to go back to the Drawings list. |
The context bar provides key information regarding the page you are working on.
It can be used as:
a reminder of the context you are working in (project, product folder, drawing...);
a direct link to context items (general project view if clicking the project ID, Subfile, Drawing...)
The context bar are displayed in blue, just below the navigation bar.
There may be several context bars on the same page, as shown in the following example:

In that example, you are viewing a comment relating to a BVN file, within
the project "Great Plat".
Click the comment name to get to the comment detail. Click the project
ID to get to the general project view.
|
|
In case of Non Dedicated Certifications, there is no project context bar when you enter a "project" because a NDC is about a product; as a result, only the product context bar is displayed because the product exists outside a project's context. |
If there is too much information to present on a single screen, or if it is more convenient to split it in several major themes, information has been separated into several tabs: every tab gathers a part of data relating to a larger information data. Click a tab to display its content.
In this example...

... we are viewing a project from the SAY point of view: the active tab
is the Tree one, displayed in red. The other tabs can be consulted to
have access to other project data (kick-off meeting, yard documents...).
|
|
When modifying or adding a record, the tabs are inactive: you
must save you record before navigating to another tab's content. |
They are represented with either blue or red & white hypertext links, separated by pipes ( | ). The content of the action bars depends on your profile, on the page you are viewing, and on the status of the record. Action bars are not permanent items and can be displayed both above and below the tabs. They display the features available in the screen (access to search forms, detail views, creation forms, record modification...).
|
In this example... |
|
|
|
... the links of the blue action bar are specific to the current screen
(LPO Dwg./Comments tab). |
|
In this example... |
|
|
|
... the links of the red & white action bar are specific to the
current record (comment). |
