Desktop click
"Create Project" in the action bar
This window displays the project creation form, laid out in three sections:
Section 1: New project: choose the project type as well as the project name.
Section 2: Select tree structure from: if you wish to create a new project based on an existing tree, use this section to select a unit model or an existing project on which structure your project will be based.
There are two ways to create a project:
Using a unit model or an existing project: your new project will use the tree of a unit model or of an existing project; thus, you need to indicate, in Section 2, a unit or a project to be the model of your project.
Starting from zero: your new
project will not use an existing structure and will go through every step
of a project creation. Thus, you do not need to fill out Section 2.
Complete New project section:
Type: choose a project type in the drop-down menu:
Drawing
(only for LPO profiles): creation of a Drawing
project.
Simulation:
you may need to create a "fake" project, in order to simulate
checklists and forecast possible project data: a Simulation
project
is not officially registered and is useful only if you choose a unit or
a project to be its model (in section 2).
Name:
in any case, type a project name.
If you want the new project to be based on an existing tree structure (unit or project), fill out this section:
Project
unit: select a unit in the drop-down menu to define its tree structure
as the one to use in your new project. A unit is a theoretical division
of a structure.
Setting a unit as a model:
duplicates the unit model into a real unit;
creates a link between the project and the real unit created;
runs processing rules
for elaboration of checklist.
Existing
project: select an existing project in the popup window reference
list to define its tree structure as the one to use in your new project.
VeriSTAR NB will retrieve the characteristics of the existing project
(project information, intervention tree...) but not the values.
Click to validate
the project creation: a progress bar is displayed while the project is
being generated. Then the general project view is displayed (Project data
tab): your project has been successfully created, as you can see its ID
and name in the context bar.
To leave the project creation form without saving and go back to your
Desktop, click in the project creation form.
